Welcome to Our Masjid: A Place of Peace, Prayer, and Community
Our Journey
Established in February 2024 by the Sri Lankan Bolton Community (SLBC), Darul Ilm Mosque stands as a symbol of faith, unity, and perseverance. What was once an Irish pub has been beautifully transformed into a house of Allah, a beacon of Islamic devotion and community service for Muslims in Bolton.
Since its establishment, the masjid has continued to nurture a vibrant and growing community dedicated to worship, education, and social harmony. Every day, its halls resonate with the adhan, the recitation of the Qur’an, and heartfelt du‘as, a true reflection of the spirit of togetherness and gratitude, Alhamdulillah.

Our Vision & Values

Our Vision
Our Vision is to create a spiritually uplifting environment where the community can connect through prayer, Islamic education, and social support. The masjid will serve as a centre for daily salah, Jumu’ah prayers, Qur’an classes, Islamic studies, youth engagement, and a range of community services designed to nurture both individual and collective growth.

Our Values
This project reflects our commitment to preserving Islamic values while promoting harmony, education, and service within the diverse community of Bolton.
Our Religious Activities

Jumma Prayers
Every Friday with full community participation

Five Daily Salah
Regular congregational prayers for all musallees

Youth Programme
Saturday sessions for Islamic learning and leadership.

Ladies Programme
Tuesday Qur’an study and spiritual development.

Gents Programme

Educational Development
Darul Ilm’s mission is to nurture a generation that blends Islamic and academic excellence. We are establishing a Makthab — an Islamic school — to provide Qur’an, Hadith, and moral education for all, ensuring our children grow in both faith and knowledge.
In addition, we are developing youth programs focused on strengthening faith, character, and community spirit. These initiatives aim to help our younger generation stay firmly connected to their e’maan and dheen, equipping them to live as confident, compassionate Muslims in today’s world.
Future Goals

Renovate and expand the facility to better serve the needs of worshippers and the wider community

Establish dedicated classrooms for the Makthab.

Develop a multi-purpose hall for youth & community programmes.

Expand outreach to serve the wider Bolton community.
Funding Appeal
We seek £165,000 to repay the Qardul Hasanah and complete essential renovation and development works. Your support is a Sadaqah Jariyah, an investment in your Akhirah and a gift to future generations.
